Year of the Snake Lecture + Daoyin Class - Online

The year of the Wood Snake is upon us. What does that mean for you, your practice, and your community? We'll gather together online for a short talk on Chinese astrology, followed by an hour of snake Daoyin.

Magical snakes abound in Chinese myth. They are shapeshifters, associated with the mystical yin aspect of fire, as well as the creation of humankind.

After the talk, we'll let our bodies continue the story. What is it like to be a snake? How do you move when you have no arms and 200 ribs? Let's shed our expectations and meet down in the subterranean realm of the serpent.

Daoyin Animals + Elements

Join Eli for this one-day introduction to the ancient art of Daoyin. We will open our bodies and cultivate wild energy as we hop, crawl, and roll through different animal forms. We will unlock the playful expressiveness of the body by channeling the five elements of fire, earth, metal, water, and wood.

Daoyin is the mother of tai chi, qi gong, and even Chinese opera. It can be wild and theatrical, calm and meditative, and everything in between. It will give you the charisma of Brando and the abs of Britney, but that’s beside the point. Daoyin is a joyous expression of life!

No experience necessary. Bring Your Own Body!
